| Celebrating Lohri at Shivala Chowk in Qadian |
Qadian, 13 January (Zeeshan) - The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the local shopkeepers and goldsmiths in the main market at Shivala Chowk. Under the leadership of the National President of the Akhil Bharatiye Sawarankar Sangh (All India Goldsmiths Association), Kashmir Singh Rajput, the shopkeepers, goldsmiths, and dignitaries of the city gathered together and lit the Lohri fire at Shivala Chowk.
On this occasion, traditional sweets called "rewadis" and peanuts were also distributed. Kashmir Singh Rajput stated that they have been celebrating Lohri at Shivala Chowk for the last 40 years, and even during difficult times in Punjab, this Lohri has been celebrated by all members of the all communities without discrimination at this same location.
Former Chairman of Qadian Municipal Council Narinder Kumar Bhatia, Secretary of the Punjab BJP Yuva Morcha Gaurav Rajput, Joginderpal Bhutto, Ashok Kumar, Qutub, Naresh Sarna, Jagmohan Sarna, Ajit Singh Aulakh, Dharam Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Pandit Pramod Shastri, Baldev Singh, and Billa were also in attendance.
