| Members of Literary Forum Welcoming the Guest Teachers |
QADIAN, 21 Feb (Zeeshan) - Today, on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Language Forum of Sikh National College organized a literary event under the leadership of college's Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal. This literary program was presided over by the patron of the forum, Prof. Harjinder Singh.
As special speakers on International Mother Language Day, the teacher of Punjabi department Dr. Satinder Kaur, Prof. Rajwant Kaur, Prof. Kulwinder Singh attended this event. On this occasion, the students of various departments of the college presented poems, speeches, songs etc. dedicated to the mother tongue Punjabi.
The keynote speaker Dr. Satinder Kaur enlightened the students about the importance of mother tongue by highlighting the historical background of International Mother Language Day. Prof. Harjinder Singh, the forum's patron, spoke to the students about the respect and ever-present necessity for Punjabi as a mother tongue, as well as the role of mother tongue in the development of every human being's personality.
On this occasion the local secretary of the college Dr. Balcharanjit Singh Bhatia and principal Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal extended their best wishes to the students and teachers on this day.
Among the students, Shabnam Aktara of MA Punjabi and Amanpreet Kaur of B.Com served as Stage Secretaries. Students Sukhpreet Kaur, Mehardeep Kaur, and Samarth Singh recited poems and Amanpreet Kaur and Shabnam Aktara delivered speeches dedicated to mother tongue Punjabi.
At the event, all pledged to maintain the high status of mother tongue Punjabi while always respecting it. At this Event teachers Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Prof. Lovepreet Kaur, Prof. Rajwant Kaur, Prof. Simranjit Kaur, Prof. Balbir Kaur, Prof. Shweta Sharma, Prof. Harmanjit Kaur, Prof. Neeru Bala, Prof. Kulwinder Singh and students of various departments were present.
