Qadian 18 may (Sarwan) :- Bharat Vikas Parishad Qadian, honoured famous athlete Buta Singh for getting third place in 100 meters race and second in 400 meters relay in the Masters Games held at Lovely Professional University last day, after getting selected in Asian Games Athlete Buta Singh resident of Bhittewad giving information on this occasion, said that he had been the first in the district and state since 1991 for 10 consecutive years.
Then he left the games, now once again after 20 years, with full preparation, he participated in the master games and achieved this feat. Buta Singh was honoured with a momento and a certificate of honor for bringing silver and bronze medal by Mukesh Verma President BVP and his team.
50-year-old athlete Buta Singh, who is an example for modern youth, during a felicitation ceremony told that last day in the Masters Games at Lovely Professional University, he has secured third place in 100 meter race and second in 400 meter relay.
He also told that he has been doing district and state level continuously since 1991. The first ones are coming. Then he left the game, now after 20 years once again this achievement has been achieved by him in the age group of 50 to 55 years.
He told that the Asian Games will be held in Mumbai and then in Australia in which he is going to participate. He said that sports should be encouraged to eliminate the scourge like drugs from the society. He thanked the group team of BVP Qadian on this occasion.
On this occasion, President Mukesh Verma and his team congratulated the athlete Buta Singh. He gave a message to the youth of the area that whoever brings glory to his field at the state or national level, he will be given special respect by the organization.
He said that by honoring the players, it is his small effort to save the youth who are turning towards drugs from this quagmire. He also exhorted other players to participate in sports with great enthusiasm and get associated with the ground and keep themselves physically and mentally fit.
Master Gurnam Singh, Head of Sports Project, said that he is happy to honor athlete Buta Singh. And on this occasion, Master Gurnam Singh said that people like Buta Singh are an example for the youth. He congratulated Buta Singh Singh and also offered best wishes for the future.
He also encouraged other players to participate in the games.
